This distillery, founded in 1840, was built around the maltings of earlier Camelon distillery. It was rebuilt 24 years later as a distillery that would brook no rivals. The water source was the Carron Valley Reservoir. Vanilla caramel and a hint of fruit on the nose. Very different on the palate.
