Isle Of Jura 1999 Heavily Peated Single Malt Scotch
Cask Number 24.
Distilled 18th January 1999 Re racked from American White Oak in September 2004 into an Oloroso Vina 2a Sherry butt from Gonzalez Byass. Original strength 63.5%V – bottled at 52.1%.
This is a special limited edition commemorative bottling for the Crinan Classic Boat Festival 2007.
COLOUR – Copper gold with honeyed highlights.
NOSE – A phenolic explosion like an Autumn bonfire coupled with a seductive tang of damp salt and peat drawn from Small Isles Bay.
PALATE – Reduce with soft still water. Not for the faint hearted. Feel the full force of sharp winds and driving rain in your face as this complex malt rolls over the palate to reveal its character of smoke, peat, tar rope and hints of lemon gorse.
Once drunk - never to be forgotten!
