A standard shot of 1.5 ounces, or 4.4 centiliters, of Island Breeze has 48 calories, half as many as a shot of normal rum and 70 percent fewer than some flavored drinks like Absolut Vanilla and Smirnoff Cranberry Twist. Island Breeze is also 18 percent alcohol rather than the usual 40 percent.
