4 (OUT OF 5) STARS SPIRIT JOURNAL. The "Best Reposado Tequila 1999" as named by the Federal Government of the Republic of Mexico, the highest honor possible in the country. Light golden-yellow color. Sweet creme brulée nose has a hint of perfumed spice. A graceful, silky attack leads to a medium-bodied palate with tropical flowers and fruits balanced by a wave of peppery, brown spiciness. Very smooth, effortless finish. Agave character is dusty and subdued but this is wonderfully made.
