Ballatore Rosso Red Spumante
Ballatore Rosso Red Spumante, with its dazzling ruby color, exhibits intense notes of raspberry and cherry from nose to finish. A touch of acidity keeps this medium-bodied wine balanced.
The brand was launched in 1983 by and named after the Gallo Sparkling wine master (Spirito Ballatore). His signature is on the neckband around the bottle. Spirito wanted to pull from his Italian heritage to create a California Spumante. Spirito also wanted to bring more consumers into the Sparkling wine category and thought that a Spumante, a sweeter styled Sparkling wine, would help to do that. Spirito is now retired in Modesto and enjoys spending time with his family.
Ballatore has won over 300 awards since its launch including:
- Wine Enthusiast Best Buy in 2006.
- In February 2007, Richard Elia, Publisher of Quarterly Review of Wines stated that "Ballatore is the best sparkling wine of its kind under $15"
Ballatore is a sparkling wine whose taste is both reminiscent of Italy's fine spumantes, yet wholly distinctive as a California Spumante.
